Glad you have dipped your toe in the blogging pond, Mitch. You need to brainstorm ideas with your group of the genre you think you might try to replicate and identify the typical codes and conventions of it as well as showing some understanding of how a new film will be marketed - an awareness of all the ways in which the film reaches the public eye (even the ones you are not going to create).
