After giving out 20 questionnaires, we gathered some results and are now showing what information we have.

From the information gathered above I found that film noire was the most popular genre amongst people of my age, although the questionnaire was on small scale it has still given me enough information to narrow down my research into film genres, I will be now looking into the below genres.

From looking on the internet I found that these three genres were relatively the same in popularity.

Film noire has a wide market when considering the age groups that it attracts. Overall film noire seemed to be a very worthwhile market for targeting age groups. As I was looking on the internet I came across various films that had been popular in the past, the trend I noticed is that they shared the same codes and conventions, and that most films revolve around the most problematic crime around the time of the film was made.

I decided to ask some of my class why they thought that film noire is an interest to them.

‘I think I find them interesting because, they normally have an underlying twist to the end of them, or they are based on true stories’

‘I like crime/gangster films because they are very closely based to reality’

‘They’re very entertaining when it comes to the ways they try and make money’

‘Normally they relate to crime topics we hear about in the news’
