From some research on the internet I found that the film ‘lock stock and two smoking barrels ‘ came up a lot and was seen to be a popular film type, amongst film noire. I have decided to analyse it as I could include the popular properties of this film in my own production. From the introduction I can see that it starts with the film production company universal, which is well known worldwide, from this I can see that the film has a decent budget for production, this will be something I will have to look at when I begin my production. What’s also very interesting about this trailer is that there is a voice over at the beginning, which is present as soon as the title comes up. The voice over states in a cockney accent ‘When you dance with the devil, you wait for your soul to stop, know what I mean?’, this statement already brings forward some codes and conventions intended for a film related to ‘CRIME’, such as accent and dialogue, it’s a great effect that I would consider using in my own trailer. This statement brings in ideologies related to the film, in this case it’s almost bringing across the idea of it being associated with the underworld of society.
