considering that brighton rock would have been an 'A' type film in it's day, meaning that it would certainly have cost a lot more of money than the 'b' type film that would have accompanied it on the evenings viewing at the cinema. Brighton rock would have been classed as a high budget film, whats important for me to take note of is how much media has progressed, in budgets as well as market share. The boulting brothers would certainly have taken advantage of filming thier production in their Welwyn studious, whenever possible, avoiding dependance on good wether for the location scenes. Brighton seemed to focus its budget on its cast, engaging well known actors to draw in the audience and this would certainly have been classed as a high budget film for thi aspect alone. In the credits of brighton rock, there is no mention of film production team just the actors.

~Nowdays it seems that films seem to rely more heavily upon high technology, special effects and sounds, the money spent on films seems to be more spread across the different aspects that go into film production for example, things like make-up artists, lighting crew, special effects crew, acting crew, locations, props and even music composers.

For me the changes represent the interest of society, the more the films increase in complexity, the more it raises the interest of viewers. I feel that

today it seems that films become more popular when there is more money spent as they are hyped up more in the media for having this and that. But there is the niche sinario where by a film can be made on a low budget with a good storyline, an example of this is slum-dog millionaire which became a major hit in england.

films need to focus more on storyline
