analyses of poster #2

Lock stock and two smoking barrels has a film poster that has succesfully got my interest. When looking at this poster i could see that it was a good reflection on the gangster genre, the codes and convetions were so spot on... money, weapons, cards and even a hint of comedy are all becoming trends of the gangster genre. W

What particularly interested me about this poster was the age of it... YOu could tell clearly by the sepia tone effect that this was a classic gangster type film, also the weapon he is holding also says something significant to the time set of the film... The weapon is particualrly old and old school.

Already the producers of this poster are trying to potray the importance/roles of the characters in this film. The expressions shown by each actor is an example of their personality the man in the top left has a witheld look about him and also a comical look, the man in the top right corner has a smart cocky look, the man in the bottom left corner has a hard attitude, and possibly seen as the alpha male, as he is carrying the cash (the prize of all crime) the man in the bottom right corner has the attitude of that he takes commands, and uses the necessary force to do so.

The font for the title is very rustic it implements that sense of 'OLD SCHOOL' approach, a mature look of the genre.

The title is also the centre of attention it is in between all the action going on in the poster to remind the audience what the film is.

Im going to take the uses of charcters and design in this poster into consideration for that of my own.
